December 16

Hermana Maisie Hobbs is on her way home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 14

Well family, I don´t have much to say other than I`ll be home for christmas. My heart is truly full of gratitude to my Father in Heaven for these past 18 months. I am overwhelmed with emotion & love for Merida and her people, and of course my Savior Jesus Christ. I truly feel like everything has passed bien rapido.. like water slipping between my fingers. The other day when I was reading in the LDM, jacob was speaking to me from the dust when he nearing the end of his life, but the beginning of a new one:

"The time passed away with us and also our lives passed away as if it were unto us a dream, we being wanderes.. cast out of Jersusulm and born in tribulation." jacob 7:26

This time has passed away as if it were a dream. But this dream has opened my eyes to what life is, to what the gospel is. I dont know how I would have been able to go through life without coming to Merida and serving the lord with all my heart might mind and strength. I know the Lord loves his children, I have been a special witness to that love through the service I have rendered.  I am so grateful for the atonment and patience the Lord has had for me and my imperfecions. I am so grateful for the opportunity the Savior gave me to repent and be perfectioned.I know that the atonement not only cleans us, but strengthens us. I have been a witness to HIS POWER. I have seen as he has carried me through the the desert, across the waters, passing for my own tribulations. I thank my father every day for the people he has blessed me to serve. Every person I have met has left an impression on my heart..

I have learned to TRUST in the Lord. I am sad to leave, but know I need to trust my Heavenly Father.Because I KNOW that he does not leave us alone in our tribulations. He will lead us safely across the waters as long as we live the commandments and be the good girls and boys we should be.

Come what may, I will love it.

con mucho amor,

Hermana Hobbs

p.s. please come to the airport with a big coat and boots.

December 7

"Can you hear it?"
"Hear what?"
"The bells!"
"I dont hear any bells.."
"Yes! just listen, the bells to santas sleigh.. just stop and listen."

It seems just a couple of weeks ago I was in my room praying to my heavenly father right before opening up my mission call telling him that I would go where he needs me.. I would do what he would tell me.. just help me to love my mission & be a good servant. Relfexioning on everything that has happened this past 1 1/2 the Lord has answered my prayer. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and his plan. of how individual he is with his children.. of how much love and attention he shows to them. its just the question if we stop & listen.
In the christmas season, it always seems to be the busiest, happiest time of the year. We find ourselves giving and making gifts, gingerbreadmen, christmas carols, and so on. We enjoy the time we have with our families, the snow (or the hot sun;) the treats and goodies. But may I say that we must stop and listen. and more importantly feel. we may find our minds relfexioning upon the the year, our past goals and plans, the saviors birth, his life and atoning sacrifice. the covenants and blessings that he promeses us, our forever families.
I have found myself relflexioning upon these a  few of these this past week as we have started to share the video "HA NACIDO UN SALVADOR" and cant help but rejoice for my Savior Jesus Christ was born and he lives! I have seen his influence here in my mission. I have seen him in every person I have met.. I have seen his light in their eyes.. I have seen his compassion, his desire. I have FELT his presence. Like my sister.. I have felt him walking beside me. I am so grateful for my savior..
it has always been impressioning to me that he chose to leave his marks upon his body. when we are promised to be perfected, but he does it to always remember us.. he has us before him. he is constantly reminded of the pain and suffering he did to free us.. of his love for us. I feel like that is what helps motivate him to work. to work so hard for us. I will be eternally grateful for my mission for these past 18 meses because HE has worked along side me.. and has left marks in me. Not only the physical ones.. the many bites from those pesty mosquitos or the many splotches from the sun, but also the marks in my spirit.. My heart has hurt and eyes have wept as I have seen the iniquityor the rejection of my bretheren.. but also has been filled with immense joy as I have seen christ make the change in the people I love so much..
there is nothing better than being a missionary and experimentating those moments.
This past week I had my ultimate interview with pres.
. we had our christmas devotional
gave my last testimony in front of the whole mission
finally got to be comps with hna huff on exchanges :)
shared the video SO MANY TIMES
christmas caroled in the bus staion with our zone
did a sketch of 8 filtros a dia
got the package and
and loved loved loved every moment.

this week im gonna leave my heart on the line. give all i have to my father. its not the end of my work but just the beginning. the lord has prepared me to be a better witness for him in the future.

i love you all so much. so grateful for every person that i have met.

LOVE YOU ALL
disfruten este espiritu de navidad

mis queridos!

this week FLEW by. between exchanges, traveling to merida, lidership conf, district conference, I think we spent like 3 solid days in our area. but it was a week of aprendizaje. and an opportunity to get to know other missionaries mejor :)

first THANKS SO MUCH TO THE ROUNDY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was pretty cool because they had a shoutout in our district conference in ticul by the pres. and wife of the temple!! (who is the brother of Pres. Garcia, how fun) 3 families were sealed this weekend :) so grateful that they could see

so we started out in the week in MERIDA. we had our leadership training tuesday so we had to travel to merida monday. we worked in the morning and traveled to merida in the night and stayed with my hermanas in ITZIMNA. my old zone. jaja so it was fun seeing the hermana Lopez again. Our leadership conf was in the house of pres. garcia.. (because the capilla en centro was burned a couple weeks ago) they cooked us breakfast and everything for our "thanksgiving" jaja it was fun. Hna Garcia shared the talk of eld bednar about the pickles and how we must be born again. and how it is similar to canning. it reminded me of all our canning memories as a child. with beans, corns, tomatos how i always dreaded those days, but loved eating the fruits of our labors.. we all must go through the process of cleaning, saturating and sealing and have our own conversion that can last us. It has made me reflect alot upon my mission and how my own conversion to the Lord has grown so much! Pres. also talked about the Book of mormon and the power that it has. in our district we have been doing a readathon of the book of mormon to be able to finish before the new year and i have loved reading the power the book of mormon  has.

We are still working with Andy & Dulce. he is having some problems to stop drinking, but he is working greatly on that. theyre little kids are great helpers :)

Isidro, Marcelino and Mariele are doing well!! we are planning for the 12 of dec. (hestons bday) We are doing a lot of readings with them of the power of the BOM

Angel we havent been able to find in his house.

Saturday was our zone conf and sunday the conference of the district. We gave the talk of hna garcia and made plans to help our district become a stake. we are working a lot with preisthood to get them going. The conf was all about marriage. jajaj the presidentes of the mission and temple spoke with their wives about what makes marriage work and how the gospe infulences it. after with hna huff pres joked with us that he planned the conference for us. jajaj it was funny.

sorry my thoughts are jumbled, dont have much time! next week i will be writing tuesday because our devotional is monday. love you so much family!!

November 23

HE is the gift.

Oh how great of a week!! This week seriously FLEW by. We have so much work in Ox, that were a little over our heads, but that is the greatest blessing as a missionary. Christmas spirit is filling MEXICO! Hna Huerta and I have been on a high of christmas & sharing the good word of our savior. Weve been using our tablet (mexican style of the little reproductors) to share the video of He is the Gift with all we meet, and its been pretty effective!! We are bringing christmas early :) we even decorated our little casita with a little tree and lights. I LOVE THIS TIME OF BEING A SERVER OF OUR FATHER.

Wednesday we had to come in to Merida for a trip to the doctor for my compa, nothing serious, but on the 2 hour bus ride we spent contacting others and sharing the video, it was super fun :) on the way home there were no more seats so we sat on the floor jajaj i wasnt going to stand for 2 hours. It was a good day, we spent it with Hna Garcia taking us around to find a special type of shoe for my comp - it was so sweet of her. I have charished the moments I have had to spend with her and learn of her.

We also found 4 new investigadores that all accepted baptismal date this week!!! One is a family, Andy, Dulce, and their cute little kids. Dulce-s brother is a convert of one year and before was a hard core drinker but when he was baptized changed his life and matrimonio. He is now the pres. of hombres jovvens and is going to be sealed in march! Andy and Dulce are encountering similar problems and are seriously looking for help.. Our first lesson was so powerful. Andy was crying, and it truly strengthend my testimony on the cleansing power of the atonement.. they came to church sunday as well so we are super excited about them!!

We did intercambios with the hermanas of Ticul, I was able to go there with hna barraza ( the sister who went to kanasin after me) she is so SWEET! I learned so much from her, they just recieved the area of the elders as well because the mission is slowly getting smaller and smaller so they have lots of work. it was fun getting updated on how kanasin :)

We did divisions with some laurel saturday becasue we had lots of work, I have been so impressed by the youth and how prepared they are.. I feel like every generation is more and more powerful. They are coming more and more preapared into a world that needs preparation. Carlita and I were able to find an old investigator that the missionaries stopped visiting that is super powerful as well. Spent a lot of time contacting referencias as well and it amazes me because almost all had questions about the restoration. It testifies to me that their spirits have these questions of the soul for a reason.. becasue they are children of God and they are on this search of happiness but just dont know where to find it.

I cant remember if I told you last week about damian? he is a little old guy (he reminds me of uncle gene) that we helped with his family history and found 25 names!!!! and he has been taking them faithfuly to the temple. He was inactive for 40 years becasue his wife was resadora in the catholic church and there was a lots of problems because of that but he never lost his testimony, after she passed away, he went to church that sunday and then was sealed to her in the temple... his story is seriousy so inspiritng.

LOVE OX. LOVE the mission! I know that christ is our savior and redeemer of man kind. I love you all so much.

have a good week! thanks for all your letters of encouragement and support. they truly mean the world to me.

LOVE YOU

OXKUTZCAB

I LOVE IT HERE!!!!! TRANQUILA mama :) President is an inspired man, and I know this is where Heavenly Father wants me. I miss Motul so much, but it was the same when I left Kanasin. Our father knows where he needs us in time he needs us, and he knew that I needed to come here. I am already learning so many beautiful things. :)

First, my comp Hna Huerta is AMAZING. She is so christlike and I love her desire to help and to serve, to edify. learning so much from her! Every night before we go to bed we talk about how we saw the hand of the lord in the day.. and it seriously has blessed my life. We truly see SO many blessings from him and its so beautiful to remember them right before we sleep. :) Im gonna mention a few of them.

1) so Ticul has some very pretty HILLS!!!! yes HILLS!! i have never been so happy in my life to see hills or walk up them!! they remind me of how much I love heights. When we wer coming in on the bus I about jumped out of my seat to see them. Oxkutzcab is like the center of oranges. about everyone here works in the parcelas (orchards) its like a green forest everywhere! my companion always laughs at me because im always gasping at how beautiful everything is. And ive eaten so many citrusy fruit in my life oranges, mandrins, grapefruit, etc. everyone is always giving us fruit. So we have our every day fresh oragne juice in the morning. its the best!! oh as well everyone speaks maya here. so koox meyah

2) there is lots of work here! we are working with lots of people right now..
the family Dzul - Isidro, Marcelino, Mariel there mom passed away in aprilish and have been going to church for 2 weeks now. Isidro is the papa and has like 65 years. they are the two youngest children who live at home with him. We teach them to read and to do math becausethey havent had money to be in school. We have been teaching them in parts the lessons because they progress a little slowly. isidro speaks more maya than spanish so sometimes he cant undersand me. jajaja but the spirit is the real teacher right? :) we finsihed PofSalv this week and he told us "no hay otro!! tengo que irme al reino celestial!" it was so cute. he is so ready for his baptism. he also came to our activity with the relief socitey to make oatmeal cookies :) they loved them! i love this little family.

3) a cool experience with the recient convert... TIGRE. (its his nickname) wow i gotta take a picture with this cute guy. he is like 60 as well but before his life was really crazy. was baptized in october and has seriously changed his life drastically. he has his tricitaxi painted as a tiger its super sweet.. we went to teach him this week and he was hurting a lot in his stomach but he said dont worry hermanas i can aguantarlo so as we prayed we blessed that he could be healed. in the middle of the lesson he said HERMANAS HERMANAS!!! ya no me duele en mi estomaga!!! ya no!!! he was so suprised and it was such a blessing and a reminder that the lord hears our prayers and blesses us. and as missionaries we have power to promise blessing and they will be fulfilled. I love working hand in hand with my savior. He was so excited to share his experience in principios del evangelio on sunday with everyone :) i love tigre.

4) on sunday we were doing the usual, trying to calm down children in the sacramental so that the parents can hear the talks and everything. as two little girls were putting stickers on me, walked in some familiar faces... ISABEL AND GIOVANI FROM KANASIN. then a little later Yasumi, Cynthia and ABRAHAM! I was so suprised1!! abraham was my little inv about 7 months ago in kanasin that was finally able to be baptized 2 weeks ago. Yasumi has a instutite class with PResdidente Garcia and asked him where she could find me sunday because abraham wanted to thank me... I WAS SO TOUCHED. kanasin to oxkutzcab is really far... and to see him and how he has changed it literally brought me to tears.. i loved seeing my kanasin friends and to hear little abrahams testimony.. and giovanis!! (he is a convert as well that hna pinguelo and I started teaching but was in the area of the elderls) in principios they both shared their testimonies and it seriously was such a thrilling moment as a missionary to see people you love so much and to hear how the gospel has changed them..

I think I am going to stay in mexico forever. There is no greater call than being a missionary. I will never have the words to thank my father in heaven for all that he has given me. I truly know that he loves his children.. that he hears and loves us and will do everything in his power to bless us. but we must use two of the greatest gifts he has already given us to make it posible. Our AGENCY and our SAVIOR.

As thanksgiving is coming up, I invite you all each night before going to bed, before saying your prayers to think/write/discuss, How have I seen the hand of the Lord today? And how have I tried to be HIS hand in someone elses life today?

LOVE YOU SO MUCH

November 9

Buenas Tardes mi hermosa famila!! como estan??

welp.. this morning I got a great suprise... TRANSFERS TO TICUL! Ticul is the farthest area east in the mission, with the Hermana Huerta de Mexico! There I will be finishing my mission. We{ll still be sister training leaders, and im excited because theres a lot of hermanas that have been my friends in the zone!! so it will be great to work with them and help them out. I was a little bit shocked becasue last week pres. told me id be staying in my area because we had a lot of baptisms coming up.. but guess the Lord had other plans for me :) sad because I didnt get the chance to say goodbye to anyone...

they usually call us in the night so we can be in the offices by 8 in the morning, but transfers were a little crazy because there were more than 35 missionaries going home.. so LOTS of changes! We didnt get the call till 7 in the morning and i had NOTHING packed. so it was a ramble of throwing things into my suitcase and finding a way to get my maletas out. It was a show, but it was fun.. Im a little bit sad to leave motul... well a lot acutally, but that area will forever be sacred to me.. The people I met, the blessings I saw.. Motul was what helped me grow spiritually and learn to rely on our Savior. But I know with every transfer, with every area, with every companion, there is something to learn, & with each one I am learning WHO is christ. So Im excited to see what Oxkutzcab has for me :)

this last week was great!! Jose chan went to church as well as Isela! Isela will be baptized this week, so im a little sad that I wont be there.. :/ but I will be in spirit! and in one year when she seals with Jose!!! Also got great news that one of my inv. of kanasin was baptized SATURDAY!! do you remember abraham?? he was the old little guys who had lots of addictions?? he was finally able to dejarlos and be baptized!! I was THRILLED when I got the news!!! So happy for him :)

We had our sunday night peliculas where we watched about JOSE SMITH. We had a really good turnout! I have loved doing that. It strengthend my testimony in our beloved profet.  we thank thee for a prophet has struly become one of my favorite hymns!

We also did divisions on tuesday with Hermana Renteria and Hermana Lugo. we both went to there area because la herman renteria sprang her ankle lunes playing basketball. woops. so we went so hermana lugo didnt stay in the house the whole week. It was fun working there! tuesday I stayed with her to care for the little sickie it was fun :) We worked a lot in her english book!! she is basically fluent. it amazes me the gift of tounges. she is working to present her exam so she can get the english certificate. It was fun being with her. we came together in the mission! she finishes a transfer after me and was one of my good friends of LAKIN :)

Hermana Falcon has finished her mission...no me diga im super sad about that. Almost didnt get the chance to despedirla but we found each other! (also i know you got my itenerary but i need you to tell me if ill be going to mexico city so i can tell her so we can meet up in the airport) I cant even begin to explain how grateful I am for her.

I dont have much time, but those are the updates on my life!! LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH.

November 2

Oh my little family!!

I love hearing from you all and how great you are doing! this week was one of many many blessings, and I will try to convey all of them. This past week has been a week of great reflexion! Every day I become more and more grateful for the mission my father has sent me to and the experiences that he has blessed me with..

first... Little Fernando was baptized!!!! It was such a wonderful experience!!! and on halloween so he will always remember his special little day. All this week he has been SOOO excited practically jumping up and down asking his mother is saturday here yet?? It amazes me the light children have and how strong they are.. especially him! His mom Alicia will be getting baptized as well, but a little more ahead, there are some things we gotta get settled first, but little Fernando is SUCH a good example to her, always making her pray and reminding her to read her scriptures. He chose Hermano Alberto to do the ordinance (he is a less active that the missionaries reactivated about 9 months ago, was put in the bishopbric and now is preparing to enter in the temple with his family in december) He reminds me lot of my own father... his humble leadership. He was very touched that little fernando wanted him to do the ordinance, and he spent all week preparing himself so he could be more spiritually prepared saturday. What a great man who honors his preisthood!!! Saturday couldnt have been a more specail day... (and hectic) friday was suppose to be his interview with our DL but Alicia forgot about an event/party in her work and left us waiting.. jajaj we were a little bit stressed out. We were calling her and calling her and nada. She called us around 10:00 tat night and said oh cant we do it in the morning? (felt super bad for our little elderes) so we passed by to walk together to the church and their dog went missing. so we were on search mode in the morning for about an hour tring  to find little espike but NADA.he still hasnt showed up..:( it reminds me again how there are ALWAYS obstacles in front of us, not to discourage us, but to really show us how much we want something and what we are willing to do to accomplish it! and nothing would stop little fernando. He came bouncing in and almost jumped right into the font at 6 for his service. hahah it was so cute!! and sunday being confirmed as well was an experience really really beautiful!

On thrusday we had interviews with Pres.. LOVE TALKING TO PAPA GARCIA :) I know Ive said it a million times but still it marvels me how similar my presidentes are to my parents. I think Hermana Garcia could be a twin of mom with all her spaz and energy! jajaj as we finished our interviews there were 4 other hermanas there with us that were tooken out of there area for algunas razones and were a little discouraged and hermana garcia just said VAMANOS YA! and took us to eat a dairy queen. it was something so thoughtful of her, and it went a long way. She told us her story of how her and Pres met, got married and everything and HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO be a mother!! she is a teacher as well & helped answer a lot of my questions.. her and pres served in the same mission but never knew each other. After the mission, she has already been home one year. pres got home and was looking at his pictures of the mission and she was in one of  them and said, Im going to marry her - and made it happen. jajaj it was so cute hearing her story. And spending time with mama garcia :)

Sunday was a day very very special. ( I LOVE FAST AND TESTIMONY MEETINGS) A menos activo family that we have been working with (the sister of Maurcio our convert) blessed  their baby boy, and their 12 year old passed the sacrament por la primera vez, Fernando was confirmed a member of the church, and MAURICIO recieved the PREISTHOOD!!!!!! I was so emotional all throughout the church seeing the power of God being used to bless these boys life, a power that I have seen first handly how it enriches and blesses the lives of families.. Little do they know the influence that they can and will have to bless the lives of those they serve, both in the church &especially in their future families, It made me remind of my wonderful brothers, of my father, and of my grand heritage that I have had in my life. I know that los hombres are tempted more for this power that they are entrusted, but it is a FIGHT to be worthy! one worth fighting. us as woman as well must be spiritual influences for good

Moroni 7:31
31 And the office of their ministry is to call men unto repentance, and to fulfil and to do the work of the covenants of the Father, which he hath made unto the children of men, to prepare the way among the children of men, by declaring the word of Christ unto the chosen vessels of the Lord, that they may bear testimony of him.

D y C107:99
99 Wherefore, now let every man learn his duty, and to act in the office in which he is appointed, in all diligence.

Let us all live live up to our callings of our heavenly father!! He has such great plans for us and will make us bigger and better then who we are already through the atonement! Love you all so much. Know that my little family is always in my prayers. little hobbs, and the big hobbs too ;) I have such a wonderful family who has helped me get to this point in my life. My wonderful sister who lead our family strongly with her righteous decisions and radiating virtue, big Slam who has such wisdom and has taught me so much about dedication & hard work, my brother Jacob who has taught me that is is more important how we make others feel tham what we say and to do ARKS, mi hermanito who has taught me patience and to FOLLOW our pursuits, to help others and to give our all. and my parents i could write a novel to them. but I truly feel like nephi of old, being born to goodly parents. ( i told you this week has been a week of reflexion :)

LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. be wise, what more can I say?

October 26

This week was GREAT as always!!
it was a little rainy so that was perfect for me. I love the rain here, got to break out my yellow coat. everyone has been saying that the spirits have been preparing to come out with this moody weather since its almost hana pixnal o sea dia de los muertos! we,ve already been fed our pib which is tradition here in yucatan to eat for these holidays. its like a tamale, but BIGGER & BETTER. ill try to send photos one day.

HAPPY WEDDING FOR AMBER!! she is such a beautiful bride. i have a letter that i hope will be getting to here soon. jaja. no we havent received any bit of the hurricane. just a litte rain like always!

this week was fun, we had intercambios, I went with the heramana avitia in PINOS (the city of the RICH and POWERFUL). I saw her nacer in lakin so it was fun working with her and seeing how much she has progressed! their area was a little different because its where all the doctors and rich people live so their are hardly any people home of in the streets but we started out with a pray and found 2 new investigadores that day!! just waiting for us.. both with sad stories. It always amazes me how the lord works.

We had a reunion with the AP.s this week and it was super powerful.. taked about the faith & desire. its something that is so common to hear, to have faith, and often we say, YES WE HAVE FAITH, or we visit the people and they tell us all about the faith they have.. but it amazes me what faith truly can do if we excercise and develop it. made me think a lot about where my faith is in what I am doing.. Eter 12:12-19. after the reunion hermana valdez & I decided that we are going to BAPTIZE EVERY WEEK. that has been and always will be the goal of the mission, yet not always has been fulfilled. but we have seen the lord already work miracles in motul, and we know he can help us! so we are praying and working hard to help our brothers and sisters come to the knowledgo oof our savior as well.

little fernando es doing so welL! we are excited for him this week to be baptized on halloween!! keep him and his mommy alicia in your prayers please.

love you all so much

hola mi familia!!!

this week went super well!
sorry this is gonna be a little short email.

We found the familia Biste! they went to our activity on Friday, we did the family history act agian, but in motul 1 (we are the travelig act:) love the sweet spirit that brings the history work.

CLARIBEL accepted fecha!! and she invited us to eat with her today. We were able to meet her husband and speak with him as well. They are soooo great really seeking a lot of guidance in this life. They are going to come to our act. on thursday and to chruh to COME & SEE.

Isela is progressing so well! She will be getting baptized in about a month when her brother comes from cancun to baptize her the week of his wedding! lots of great blessings that are coming.

Alicia se enfermo she had west nile ( a very common thing here) so wasnt ablt to go to church. the little boys came though! Jorge wanted to sit by me but it was a constant struggle to keep him quiet in the sacrament. He is a very very very active little boy. jajajaj the mission sure prepares us to be papas. It was really fun :)

Hermana Valdez and I marvill every day how the lord puts the prepared in our way. we are so grateful to be missionaries in this greate work.

"Selfishness is a sickness,
to love truly is to truly feel,
the most beautiful day of my life is today,
the biggest obstaculo is fear,
the prettiest friendship is to be sincere
the most noble beauty is a smile,
Never give up, & fight for what you want most,
fight for your future.
dont forget that the love is like the crystal, it breaks
easily if you dont care for it." - Hermana Elda

This week was so great as always. This week we ate with one of my most favorite people. La hermana Elda. she is one of the pioneers here in Motul of the church. I love hearing her stories of sacrifice, of taking her 9 children to the church of walking to all the other pueblos to share the gospel. She reminds me so much of grandma hobbs. she has so much spaz & enthusiasm to share what she knows is true!! She pulled out like 5 million libros that she has wrote little things like this (the english translation is a little weird). They are pure treasures! she has one for every kid. and has passed for many trials.. but is a true woman of faith. it amazes me to see these books and to hear that she went back to elementary school, ya a grown woman so that she would be able to help her little kids with homework. and then to read what she has written! She has the biggest heart.

I have been reflecting a lot lately about the simple truths.. as we taught a young joven who had lost his mother about 4 years ago, we shared the simple truth of the plan of salvation.

As we visited with our recient convert Mauricio and were helping him with his family history work and preparing to recieve sacerdocio and enter into the temple made me remember the blessings we have to do this work on both sides of the veil.. so that families can be together forever.

The gospel is so simple that even a young child can learn it.. Like our little Ryan, Brandon, and now Fernando and family are choosing to learn and be baptized for halloween. But so complex that it takes an eternity to master it.

We have seen so many blessings this week! Alicia and Fernando have accepted to be baptized, as well Isela recieved her answer that truly she will be baptized when she had a dream about Hermana Valdez and I teaching. (her brother will be able to do the ordinance!!) Maurcio bore his testimony in church SUPER powerful! The ward is starting to be put back in order again, we now have a pres. of relief society  & pres. quoreum elderes, Hermanos that havent drank for almost 1 month! Menos activos that are now reactivando, so many blessings are happening here in Motul that I dont think I can see them all. I love being a missionary. I love thinking of all the blessings that the father has permited me to see here.. and its through the simpleness of the gospel. Let us be like Nefi, firm and constant in keeping the commandments of the Lord. LDM promeses us more than 31 times that if we keep the commandments, we will prosper in OUR promised lands.

LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

LOVELY FAMILY...

sounds like yall had a rockin weekend of conference in Idaho, i LOVED dads cake!!! dad truly baffles me with all the talents and imagination he has! I can just picture grandmas excitement for her little poodle jajaja :)

we too had an amazing week filled with the spirit!! we had 9 menos activos and 4 investigadores who went to conference this weekend!!!! THE LORD BLESSES US :) it started out a little rough cuz I got a little infection in my stomach from something I ate. (weird cuz its the first time its happened) I hadnt been feeling very well since monday and by wednesday I felt pretty weird, so we made a quick trip to the doctor and had to stay in jueves.. but the lord healed me quickly. he knew that we had lots of work to do!

I marvilled this week as I saw the hand of our heavenly father.. i am humbled by the way he works. and I realize more and more every day how blesses us according to our desires and wills. First, on friday we were walking to an appointment and as we were crossing the street someone shouted at us, I usually dont prest attention but as we turned around a young dad asked wheres the temple of uds?? we were caught off guard but as we started to talk found out that he was an investigator in Chiapas and moved here about 3 weeks ago!! He was like when can you come to our house to visit us??? where is the church?? It was a little blessing! He has 2 cute little kids, and his wife. They were going to come to the conf, but werent able to make it... but we have an appt. this week.

then sunday in the conference (which was SO powerful) while pres. monson was
speaking, the secretary came up to us and said hermanas, i have work for you. I have to be honest I was a little bugged because we made a huge rucus leaving and left when the profet was giving his talk, but i soon became repented.. thats when we met Alicia, Fernando (8), and Jorge (6). The secretary solo said, here she is. and left back in to the conference. Alicia introduced herself and said, I dont want my kids to attend my church. (catholic) because I want them to be good boys. I dont want them to be found in the streets, or to have addictions, and Im hoping you can help me.. I could see the disperation in her eyes for her two little boys. Jorge the youngest made quick friends with another child adn was running through the halls and little fernando looked as if he was going to cry.. It was so crazy. She said Im goign to start bringing hiim to churhc every sunday and maybe ill joing as well. It was our little blessing!

i dont think ill ever have words to say how grateful I am for my savior or for my family, for the gospel, for everything that the mission has given me. I too feel like my father that I can only say that I am blessed. Blessed to have these experiences and these people I love so much... I love you all and I hope you strive to put in practice wehat you learned this conference

September 28

buennnnnnno.

Hna. Valdez & I will be staying in Motul juntas. whhhhooooooooohooo. im really excited, its a great area and we are truly seeing those fruits. Im pretty sure I will be finishing my mission here. I love my little pueblo.

Wow what great blessings came this week.. first. Mauricio was baptized.  YAYYYYY. the exclamation point doesnt work on this keyboard so I cant show my emotion how Id like. jajaj. but I am really excited. It was so beautiful, he was so ready and so nervous.. its funny how it is. There was a good number who came to his baptism, both from motul 1 and motul 2. His girlfriend and an ex misionera gave the talks in the service... SO POWERUL. We had a lesson with him earlier in the week and said that when he comes up from the water, that he will be the cleanest person in the world.. and to pay attention tothose special feelings.. on sunday we had a family dinner with him and paloma and he shared with us his feelings and testimony.. HOW GREAT IT IS TO BE A MISSIONARY. When him and paloma get married i already promised to come back for the sealing.. oh que lindo. he is also going to be called as one of the counselors in the quorom of elders.. so thats exciting. many miracles are unfolding. on sunday the stake pres. asked him to say the prayer in the capacitaion, and with shaking knees he did it. jajaja i love mauricio.

We also had our activity of the hisotria familiar on friday.. we had a whopping audience of 6. sad thing is when the rain comes out, everyone stays in. I was a little bit dicouraged because our members were so excited to be a part of the activity and had reherearsed so well and hardly any members came. but Mauricio did come so that was good. I was a little dicouraged, but the obra was seriously SOOO beautiful and so real that it made up for it, and the members who were involved felt the spirit.. after we were walking home with a hermana who is like a hero to me, and made a comment that really made me think..  she was |one of the actresses, and said that althogh we didnt have tons of people who came, SHE was the one who was touched. it made me realize once again that NUMBERS DONT MATTER. what matters is the individual.. what matters is the spirit. there are so many successes and accomplishments that you cant measure with numbers. I feel like thats sometimes one of the biggest temptations in the mission is to work for numbers, and not for individuals.. we are more worried at the end of the week if our ZL are going to planchize us than it is to be where we are with who we are with and help them feel the spirit.. that is also something I learned in the conf..

Saturday I loved loved the conference, my favorite part is singing in praise, united with all the good women around the world. i loved knowing that I was singing with my family ahi in salt lake. I loved the talks about our divine nature... of our little EVE. Jacee reminded me how simple they were but how POWERFUL. the lord is simple, and the gospel is simple, yet it leaves such a powerful effect upon us. love that.

SUNDAY. Efren and his wife Conchie came to church and LOVED IT::::: YAYAYAYA. it was such a blessing from our father. They still havent commited to baptism but they are following the paths to be there. I love seeing and teaching them because they know and feel its true.. just arent willing to accept completely. but I know they will. keep praying for my little friends. It was also the primary program on Sunday so it was a special spirit that was there. It always makes me cry seeing the future in those small little hands. I LOVE IT:

I love you all. hope all is well. keep being examples to all those around you. there are those who need your love. LOVE YOU.

EN UN DIA FELIZ, UN/A NIÑO NACIO, QUE SE LLAMA MOM & DAD, Y QUE SEA FELIZ! AL PARTIR SU PASTEL, UN DESEO PIDIO, QUE SE CUMPLA EL DESEO, Y QUE SEA FELIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AY AY AY AY!!

Yay!!! (that is the birthday song here in yucatan, its super fun :)

Just wanted to wish my two favorite people in this world HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents who have taught me to love the Lord. We sang I am a child of God with a little girl this week and asked her what she liked in the song. She told us the part that said that god sent her to parents kind and dear. It made me realize how much I love my father in heaven, for sending me to parents kind and dear. It made me love my favorite hymn all over again. :)

This week was such a good one! We were able to stay in Motul without traveling, so we got a lot accomplished. MAURICIO will be baptized this week! We did a family home evening with him and the family of his girlfriend about the atonement. It was super powerful. Then Sunday after church we had a lesson and he cried to us saying how thankful he was for his two three angels who have brought the gospel into his life.. Those are moments I live for. To feel as an instrument in the Lords hands to help others have this happiness. We are so excited for him. He is truly converted! he has given up working on sundays and is paying his tithing, and he is seeing the lord fulfill with his promises as well. I love seeing this miracles!!

Isela is building up her faith in the Lord. and we did a church tour with Efren this week. they are progressing, surely but slowly. The Lord is preparing their hearts. :)

We had a little cool experience Saturday in our class of english. A guy that I contacted in the combi like a week or two ago came! his name is Raul! we started talking and we gave him a book of mormon and invited him to the english classes and he came! when we first contacted him, he wouldnt let us take hsi number because his family are catholics, so we left him the direction and everything. Saturday said he was interested in learning more, but that wed have to teach him in other parts! how cool. we just never know who the lord is preparing, that is why we love talking to everyone :)

Today we got permission to go the the puerto! Ill have to send you pics. We were only able to walk out half way on the dock, but it was SOO pretty. I love my little yucatan.

I am also so excited for the conference!! I love preparing, studying, and searching questions for others and for myself and taking them to the lord. I am always amazed at how he answers us.

LOVE YOU ALL
